Font

The corporate font of Clausthal University of Technology is ITC Stone. It is to be used in all university documents such as correspondence, brochures, posters, etc. etc.

The font is not freely available, but has been licensed by the university for use on workstations within the campus network. The installation and use of the font on private computers is not covered by the license and is therefore not permitted. This also applies to computers in the halls of residence or in student associations.

Clausthal University of Technology institutes and facilities can obtain the font files in OpenType or TrueType formats from the computer center.

To be able to use the Stone fonts, a request must be sent to support@rz.tu-clausthal.de from a TU e-mail address. After checking whether the request comes from an institute employee, the required files are sent to the person making the request.

The Stone fonts should be installed on all computers at Clausthal University of Technology or should be able to be installed if required. Therefore, there should be no problems when creating correspondence on paper or in the form of pdf files.

Please note that the Stone font is not intended for use in presentations that are to be played on external computers. The presentation templates therefore contain Arial instead of Stone as the default font. If you still have old presentations that use the Stone font, we recommend replacing the fonts as follows:

• Possible replacement fonts for the TU house font Stone Sans: Arial or Helvecia
• Possible replacement fonts for the TU house font Stone Serif: Times New Roman or Times

You can use the"Replace fonts" function in the "Search" area in PowerPoint to replace the Stone font globally on all slides with Arial.

The Stone fonts can be used under Windows and Mac OS without any further technical requirements. The Stone fonts are also available for various TeX distributions.
